Community Platform Assessment
We will work with each contestant to draft a customized Community Platform Project Plan rooted in their interests, skill-sets, and any prior experience. Contestants sign a contract confirming that should they become the Queen, First Princess, or Second Princess titleholder, they will execute this plan during the year of their reign. Contestants present this plan to an internal Chicago Asian Women Empowerment team 1 week prior to the pageant and the resulting score will count toward the overall score. It is NOT scored on a curve - ALL contestants are able to receive 100% and they can submit drafts for review leading up to the deadline.
02
Introduction
Each contestant gives a 30 sec (per language) self-introduction. This speech is given during the first segment of the pageant. Contestants will wear an outfit of her choice that represents her ethnic heritage. The resulting score counts toward the overall score.
03
Talent
The talent segment is optional. The talent score only counts toward the Miss Talent title. Contestants who are interested in participating in this segment must audition for it during one of the rehearsals. Up to 5 contestants will be chosen to perform during the pageant and get the chance to win Miss Talent.
04
Q&A
Through our training program workshops, contestants will learn about Feminism, Current Events, and AAPI History. These will be the topics for the questions. They will each pick a question on the spot and answer it on the spot on stage. No time limits apply, but keeping it succinct is encouraged! The Q&A score counts toward the overall score.
05
Confidence Runway
This segment involves wearing a swimsuit. We've been asked why we have contestants wear a swimsuit. The main purpose has always been to encourage contestants to get out of their comfort zone, so that they can become more confident through that discomfort. The other purpose has been to challenge the notion that women should change their behaviors, and especially the way they dress, based on the objectification or prejudice of others. Contestants are judged on their confidence and personality in this segment, not on their physique. The score counts toward the overall score.
Contestants are allowed to choose between 3 options of swimsuit - two-piece bikini, one-piece, and burkini, all provided by the pageant at no cost to the contestant. They can choose after they’ve been accepted as a contestant.

Community Platform Pitch
This 90 second speech is given on stage and should be a pitch for the Community Platform Project Plan. While the Community Platform Project Plan Assessment is meant to assess the project plan itself, this pitch is meant to assess how well the contestant can convince others to be on-board with her platform. This pitch counts toward the overall score.
